Join Our Team
At Sandstorm®, our team is constantly evolving and growing as employees and as experts in our industry. Job titles rarely do our staff justice. Our core values guide the way we work: we create a place for creative people to do meaningful work, collaborate with great clients, and have fun along the way.
We work exclusively with mission-driven organizations, including associations, global nonprofits, higher education, and healthcare systems. It’s a wonderful way to do good work for good people and make a positive impact along the way.
We’re looking for a Solutions Engineer who can help prospective clients understand how technology and strategy come together to solve complex digital challenges. This role sits at the intersection of sales, technology, and delivery, helping shape solutions for both new and existing clients.
What You’ll Do
Partner in the sales process
- Work closely with Sandstorm’s sales team on new business and expansion opportunities
- Participate in discovery sessions to understand client goals and technical requirements
- Present solutions during client meetings, demos, and proposal presentations
- Help position Sandstorm as a trusted digital partner
- Travel to and attend conferences, events and speaking sessions to generate leads
- Network within our industries (associations, nonprofit, higher ed, and healthcare)
- Contribute to thought leadership and marketing efforts
- Lead technical sales engagements from discovery through close
Design thoughtful technical solutions
- Translate client needs into clear technical approaches and architectures
- Help determine appropriate platforms and approaches, including Drupal, WordPress, and decoupled architectures
- Contribute to technical scoping and estimates for proposals and RFP responses
- Collaborate with delivery leadership to ensure proposed solutions are realistic and achievable
- Able to translate technical value for both business and technical audiences
- Build prototypes to demonstrate innovative ideas (through vibecoding, etc)
- Own the technical win: Diagnose challenges and align solutions to customer needs
Support client growth
- Partner with account teams to identify opportunities within existing clients
- Help shape recommendations for platform improvements, migrations, or new initiatives
- Provide AI consulting services (AI strategy, productivity opportunities, workflow, data/intelligence, etc.)
- Advise customers on best practices for AI adoption, web architecture, and technical solutions
- Act as a trusted advisor, shaping long-term customer success
Bridge sales and delivery
- Provide architectural guidance during project kickoff and early phases of implementation
- Ensure continuity between what is sold and what is delivered
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in web development, architecture, or technical consulting
- Proven ability to drive technical wins and revenue in complex, consultative sales cycles
- Experience working in a digital agency or consulting environment
- Experience supporting technical scoping, RFP responses, or proposal development
- Strong communication skills with a desire to present to clients and prospects
- Entrepreneurial spirit with insatiable curiosity
- Self-motivated lifelong learner
- Established track record of growing existing accounts and winning new business
- Value-based selling experience over pure technical sales
- Collaborative approach with a passion for measurable outcomes
Technical experience with some combination of:

- AI experimentation and consulting
- Modern JavaScript frameworks such as React or Next.js
- Headless or decoupled CMS architectures
- API integrations and modern web platforms
- Existing partner relationships (Pantheon, Acquia, WP Engine)
Compensation and Benefits
The expected starting salary for this position is $100,000 + base + commission ($150K-200K realistic for experienced candidates) annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
We offer competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package, including:
- 401(k) with 4% company match
- Health Savings Account contributions
