Our annual Sandstorm Guac Off date is officially set – Saturday, August 29th. So what’s a ‘Guac Off’ you ask? Well, it is our official Sandstorm guacamole contest. I remember the first year that we did it, so randomly, it came up in conversation when Alma and I were bickering about who makes a meaner guacomole. I think the funniest thing about our now annual guacamole contest is that Alma nor myself has ever won.

Guac off! What fun. My brother’s office used to have chili smackdowns.
Ah yes, the Chili smackdown. It was the prized annual event. It’s funny how food-related events are always so incredibly popular in work environments.
One year I took a macro shot of all the dozen or so chili competition entries. Macro photography and chili is not an appetizing combination.
I wonder what macro photography of guacamole would look like. Pwetty green!
